History
Let the tradition continue
During the 1970s, several Sherbrooke dentists were grouped together in the building at 31 rue King Ouest. Doctors Gaëtan Duquette, Pierre Massicotte and Robert Weldon practiced dentistry there for a few years. Subsequently, they decided to join forces and give birth to the Duquette, Massicotte and Weldon clinic in the spring of 1978.
For more than 20 years, this Sherbrooke dental institution, located at 234 Dufferin Street, has established a reputation for quality care with thousands of patients. In June 2000, Dr. Pierre Massicotte retired and entrusted his practice to Dr. Mathieu Faubert, then a young graduate of Laval University. The entity became Clinique Dentaire Duquette, Faubert et Weldon for the next eight years.
In the spring of 2008, it was Dr. Gaëtan Duquette who made the decision to retire, leaving the care of these patients to Dr. Audrey Vertefeuille, another young graduate from Laval University. It was then that the clinic took the name Center Dentaire du Vieux Sherbrooke.
Once again, a graduate from Université Laval, Dr. Jim Cotton, had the chance to join this growing team in June 2009. It was to him and to Dr. Mathieu Faubert that Dr. Robert Weldon asked to assist him in the follow-up of his clientele in order to allow him to gradually reduce his involvement in the clinic.
In January 2013, the Center Dentaire du Vieux Sherbrooke turns a new page in its history by relocating the clinic to 209 rue Belvédère Nord, in the building of the former Sherbrooke Pure Milk.
After 40 years of practice, it was in June 2014 that Dr. Robert Weldon took a well-deserved retirement. The clinic was then fortunate to welcome Dr. Ariane Dubé, a graduate of Laval University, to ensure the follow-up of Dr. Weldon’s patients.
Since 2014, the team has continued to grow with the arrival of two other dentists, Dr. Mélanie Gouveia in 2019 and Dr. Dominique Harvey in 2021.
And the story continues to be written…
